Awards for Young Musicians

Giving talent a chance

How our annual Awards make the difference

At the age of 16, Haydn was helped by AYM with a top annual Award, which was put towards the cost of purchasing his guitar; he was also supported in different ways including several, exceptional, performance opportunities – all coming at crucial points in his development. Now a second-year undergraduate at music college, and having recently made his London debut with the encouragement of AYM Patron and Mercury Classics recording artist Miloš Karadaglić, Haydn has a bright career as a professional musician ahead of him. Our annual Awards…
We are here to make sure that outstanding young instrumentalists, in any music genre, can access the help they need, just as we did with Haydn. Our support can come at exactly the right time to ensure that a young person’s talent is given the chance to grow and take shape in the right direction, guided by expert advice and support offered by professional musicians and our partner organisations.

If you are aged 5-17 years of age, it’s possible to apply for an annual Award, ranging from £200 to £2,000. Our funding is flexible: we help young musicians to succeed in developing their skills and we’ll support most major musical costs, such as tuition fees and instrument purchase. Receiving an Award is just the start – we do all we can to help each young musician to flourish and grow.  To find out more about what’s involved, visit our annual Awards page here. Help us spread the word. Thank you!
