AYM Identifies Musical Talent at Music Mark Conference

AYM’s director, Hester Cockcroft and Hugh Nankivell have been invited to lead a seminar on Identifying Musical Talent at The Music Mark Annual Conference 2014 at the two-day event on 21-22 November. Joining AYM, are some of the country’s leading music educators, schools leaders and music industry specialists including ABRSM, Helen Sprott, Arts Council England, Richard Hallam El Sistema, Robin Hammerton, HMI, Ofsted National Lead for Music. This year’s theme: “Progression in Music Education; Further Still, Yet Further” offers a forum to debate, share expertise and exchange ideas for developing the national picture of music education for children and young people.

This year attendees will look forward to getting involved in an exciting new feature:  The Conference Debate which will take place on Saturday morning to explore the topic “Whole class ensemble teaching: a catalyst or an inhibitor of progression?” It’s one of many highlights in a stimulating programme that aims to inspire, challenge and give you the chance to contribute to the development of a quality music education for our children and young people.
