Awards for Young Musicians

Giving talent a chance

Our partners

AYM is collaborative and strategic by nature so identifying partnerships is central to our approach. It’s only by working tactically with our colleagues that we can truly provide the richness of support that talented young people from low income families really need.

We have developed an extensive network of partners across the UK: we always work with those who have an organisational fit with our work and who share our commitment to helping young musicians overcome the barriers they face to fulfilling their potential. In active pursuit of creating new opportunities for our Award winners, we now have a number of positive, new partnerships. We are building our collaboration with the Music Education Hubs and our orchestral partners; we’re also extending our work with organisations that specialise in a particular genre, including the English Chamber Orchestra and Milapfest.

  • English Chamber Orchestra

We are working with the English Chamber Orchestra to produce intensive learning opportunities for young musicians in a supportive and challenging ensemble music-making environment.
  • Live Music Now Scotland

This exciting partnership offers our young musicians the chance to be mentored by and with young professionals in Scotland.
  • Milapfest

Each year, in partnership with Milapfest we offer six fellowship Awards of up to £750 specifically for young musicians studying Indian Music
  • Youth Music

AYM has received generous funding from Youth Music which supports our advocacy and CPD work in the sector.
