Awards for Young Musicians is a UK arts charity. We believe that all musically talented young people should have the opportunity to fulfil their potential, whatever their background.
We carefully target our resources to give talented children from lower income families the best possible chance to flourish and grow.
Our ambition matches that of the young people we’re here to help: we fundraise continuously and do all we can to give holistic, tailor-made support to young musicians in need, not only through funding but also through individual support for each young person’s musical progression. We plan to reach 1,000 young musicians each year through our Ambition 1000 appeal.
We also help music teachers and leaders to spot, support and nurture musical talent in young people. See our Furthering Talent, Identifying Talent and Innovation & Research programmes.
Through our strategic leadership, we’ve helped to increase collaboration across the music sector to ensure that all young people experience excellent music journeys.
We are only able to achieve our ambitious goals with the commitment and support from funders, partners from the whole music sector, private individuals and the extensive contributions from our volunteers.
That’s our main business: finding potential and giving talent a chance.
